H&M Design Award 2013 – the winning collection by Minju Kim at H&M and Opening Ceremony
Completely adore Minju kim new collection at h&m, have you seen her pieces though? The winner of the H&M Design Award 2013, Minju Kim, she has developed pieces from her collection with H&M to be sold at selected H&M stores this autumn. Minju has such a unique design signature, one that combines playfulness, fantasy and great creativity! Inspired by the Japanese horror manga artist Ito Junji. The monsters and haunted eyes of Junji’s drawings evolved in a process of fantasy thinking. Through use of pastels, tactile textures and childlike proportions, the clothes become a cuddly take on horror. Block colours with edgy designs be sure to stand out in the crowd and slightly oriental feel that threads its way through the pieces. Kim has certainly brought something a little different to the fashion table. The collection will be available from 17th October at selected H&M stores around the world as well as online. Make sure you get your hands on these beautiful pieces, despite prices ranging from £19.99 - £149, from the fabrics that feel like a step above the H&M norm to the way the pieces are cut to evoke the sense of playfulness in Kim’s imagination.
