Straight and Sleek

Gah! I'm not liking these big gaps, I've been so busy with my Hair by Zara online store rarely get to sit down at my screen without a to do list.. I pinky promise I'll be posting more often and will review lots more hair and fashion related posts. What did we ever do before straighteners came along? thankyou to these precious tools our hair no longer suffers from frizzy untidy air! Before drying your hair, spray with heat protection spray, my favourite is ''VO5 Smoothly Does It Heat Protect Styling Spray''. It also smells nice and I'm amazed at how soft and light my hair feels when it's dry, it's like there is no product in it, the wide delivery of quite a light mist does mean that product is lightly distributed all over as opposed to drenching a single part of my hair. So if your looking for a weightless spray which leaves hair soft, shiny and smooth then I'd recommend this! This is really important if you want your locks to remain shiny and healthy looking. Then once the hair is completely dry you can start to straighten.

Control your temperature ladies!
everyone always ramps up to the top 230 degrees but try to understand what your hair can take without damaging it. If you have thin and frail hair really you shouldn't use a temperature over 200 degrees. Why? because a year on from now you will find your hair will be thinner. Normal hair is fine to straighten at 200 - 210 degrees so don't be scared to give it a go! saving 20 degrees will make a difference in the long run. When the straightener is ready to use, section your hair. If layered, straighten the underneath first before straightening the top. Run your irons the hair fairly quickly to avoid too much damage to your hair.
