MIRACLE SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER

SAMY Fat ''0'' Calories Shampoo and Conditioner from Superdrug

Probably the most common question I get asked by all my followers is how to thicken hair. Here is one of my favourite hair thickening goodies, I've been using this shampoo for some time now, and have seen great results! I do have to warn you it takes about 3 uses to see a positive difference, so don't give up straight away if you do purchase this! Each bottle is £5.59 and they are 300ml each which would last me for a good 2-3 months. I chose to buy this shampoo and conditioner set because it was sulphate free and 100% vegan (nope I'm not a vegan if your wondering!) your probably questioning what harm does sulphate cause, well sulphate damages the hair and can cause hair loss and that is definitely not what we want! I have been cutting down on buying sulphate hair products for the past year or so. when purchasing you next hair shampoo or conditioner do remember to check the back of the bottle to avoid sulphate products. I used both the shampoo and conditioner together to get maximum results, I even tried to use different shampoo/conditioners to see if it would make my hair any different but unfortunately it didn't. In fact, it made my hair feel very unmanageable and uncomfortable

Shampoo
As soon as you squeeze a dollop out of the bottle you can feel that its a really thick consistency, the only downer is it doesn't quite lather up as much as I'd like it to, so i tend to lather rinse twice, so it froths/foams up just how I like it. Other than that the shampoo works lovely delivering everything it promises on the tube! The smell well there isn't really a strong smell its quite subtle, I actually like it.

Conditioner
So the conditioner is pretty much your bog standard hair conditioner it left my hair feeling really soft, smooth and thick which I find impossible with other conditioners! Again like the shampoo it has a little scent, not very strong just subtle. I did find after using these products my hair has much more volume and bounce, just how I like it!

MY FAVOURITE SHAMPOO

Hey everyone, if your brave enough to read my huge long hair shampoo story then carry on reading. Now that the weathers brightened up a little this only means our hair is majorly confused, mine is between frizz bomb like literally, and straight. I've been juggling about experimenting with different shampoos and conditioners but I think my hair is unhappy seen as I have never had break outs with greasey hair after literally next day after washing and frizzy ends. I think it's time I headed back to my childhood shampoo head and shoulders. You have probably noticed when you change shampoo or conditioner your hairs texture changes as it takes time for hair to adjust to different shampoos as they all contain different ingredients. I'm really not into ingredients as things can get a little technical. But anyway my favourite is two in one head an shoulders shampoo, okay this is greatly known to be the most heavily strong shampoo which can fix any kind of hair, so if your looking for a strong shampoo for dandruff or for straight hair then make sure you try out this one! So enough of my babbling about my favourite shampoo, here's a hair tip which is much needed seen as I have fallen behind with daily hair tips! Gaaaah! Stay away from heat styling products and avoid washing hair in too hot of water. (Lukewarm with a cool rinse is best).

Straight and Sleek

Gah! I'm not liking these big gaps, I've been so busy with my Hair by Zara online store rarely get to sit down at my screen without a to do list.. I pinky promise I'll be posting more often and will review lots more hair and fashion related posts. What did we ever do before straighteners came along? thankyou to these precious tools our hair no longer suffers from frizzy untidy air! Before drying your hair, spray with heat protection spray, my favourite is ''VO5 Smoothly Does It Heat Protect Styling Spray''. It also smells nice and I'm amazed at how soft and light my hair feels when it's dry, it's like there is no product in it, the wide delivery of quite a light mist does mean that product is lightly distributed all over as opposed to drenching a single part of my hair. So if your looking for a weightless spray which leaves hair soft, shiny and smooth then I'd recommend this! This is really important if you want your locks to remain shiny and healthy looking. Then once the hair is completely dry you can start to straighten.

Control your temperature ladies!
everyone always ramps up to the top 230 degrees but try to understand what your hair can take without damaging it. If you have thin and frail hair really you shouldn't use a temperature over 200 degrees. Why? because a year on from now you will find your hair will be thinner. Normal hair is fine to straighten at 200 - 210 degrees so don't be scared to give it a go! saving 20 degrees will make a difference in the long run. When the straightener is ready to use, section your hair. If layered, straighten the underneath first before straightening the top. Run your irons the hair fairly quickly to avoid too much damage to your hair.

Blown To Perfection

Hello blog! Seen as the weather has no interest in showing some sunshine, only means when naturally drying your hair it can take a slightly longer, so a little help from the hairdryer is necessary! The secret to any good hairstyle is first a good hair cut and then knowing how to dry your hair the right way. Choose your desired heat and speed setting and then dry your hair 75% - 80% without styling at all. Once the hair s just damp, it is ready to section and style.

Straight hair

Using a round brush , dry the hair from root to tip, pointing the nozzle downwards to make sure the hair doesn't go frizzy. To create more volume at the roots, take the round brush and then as you dry pull the brush out 90% to the head. This will give more depth to the hair good if you wish to curl after drying.

2014

Hello 2014! Is it just me or was 2013 a super fast rollercoaster. Feels like I have been blogging forever when really I only entered the blogging world February 2013! it has been amazing met some lovely people within this year, achieved so much and yes ofcourse big plans for the year ahead. Hair by Zara new range hair extensions will be launched this year too and maybe a few a sets of hair extensions up for grabs! Seen as the winter weather will be with us for a few more month here's a winter hair tip for greasy hair which I would like to share with you all. Looks like January and February will be bitterly cold for us!

Wash your hair frequently but not every day. Daily washing may cause the oils to be stripped too quickly, encouraging them to come back as even oilier to make up for the loss. If you have naturally greasy hair, it's recommended that you only wash it every 2-3 days.

I will be blogging more hair tips and how to look after human and synthetic hair extensions! goodnight beauts

WINTER HAIR TIP - DRY SCALP POLICE

Hey guys, hope your all enjoying the weekend. Monday couldn't arrived any sooner! After some serious holiday eating and boxing day shopping, I spent my Sunday sorting through hair extension orders and clearing out my closet getting rid of shoes, bags and clothes which seem to be pushed to the unwanted corner in my wardrobe! Since the weather changes more than we change our socks, this results in confused dry hair and scalp. while you enjoy your Sunday evening have a quick read on how to get rid of dry scalp and hair.

How can I make my scalp less flaky and dry?

In the winter, there's less humidity in the air, which can dry out your scalp. Dry scalp can be really annoying this time of the year so make sure you drink plenty of water and follow this little winter hair tip! Make a deep treatment with oil. Many people get hot oil treatments at salons and swear by their effectiveness but forget the salon when you can have the same result in the comfort of your own home! For this deep treatment, try to use virgin coconut oil or olive oil.

In a saucepan, warm up oil until it is warm but not too hot to touch. You are going to be applying the oil to your scalp, so keep that in mind.

  • Take oil off the heat and let cool for 30 seconds just to be sure. Apply to hair in sections, using hair clips if necessary. If you're worried about excessive oiliness, don't rub the oil too much into your scalp.

  • Wrap your hair in a shower cap or a plastic bag and let the oil work its magic for at least 30 minutes.

  • Rinse with warm water briefly and shampoo until oil is no longer pervasive, but not stripped from hair.

  • PONYTAIL

You have probably noticed this hairstyle which has been around for the last year or so, first hitting red carpets, runways and now hit the streets. Slicked back into a tight, low ponytail with a middle parting. This hairstyle looks so strong, fashionable, and confident. It takes guts to wear your hair super sleek and completely off your face like that. Kim Kardashian is my favourite with this hairstyle, she looks so strong, a ponytail like that doesn't look like it was just thrown together. A style like that is a very conscious decision and it has to be done right. Here are my essential tools for making sure you get your ponytail just right.

    HEAD OVER HEELS

Love at first sight! Girls I'm talking about these absolute gorgeous heels by Oclay Gulsen. So the first time I seen these were on Angela Simmons, I love this woman, she's my biggest motivation to work out, random I know! I have to admit they aren't so hot without feet modelling them but once the feet are in they look incredible! these heels are SUPER high but so hot, you either hate them or you love them! Uh huh of course they are at the top of my wish list. I'm loving the Oclay Gulsen coral heels right now...

December.. Is it just me or does this feel like a super fast rollercoaster! Where has the year gone?! This time of the year is the most exciting, 2014 is creeping! Out with the old in with the new, this year has been incredible and let's hope 2014 is a brighter year for us all! Taking what we have learnt and achieved this year into the new year. Seen as the christmas markets are here, I took a stroll down Manchester's German Christmas markets which seem to get better and more festive every year! Pancakes, waffles, burgers, drinks, ornament stalls, jewellery stalls.. the list could go on! So much variety and such an amazing atmosphere, if you haven't already visited your local christmas markets I suggest you plan a trip before Christmas! I'm in love with the mini pancakes, I'm literally obsessed, gah! Every year they are a must, make sure you give your taste buds are treat with these badboys, you won't regret it. I managed to take some images during my visit.

WINTER HAR TIP - FINGER COMB

So todays hair tip is on how to prevent split ends and damaging your hair by just touching it. Try wearing styles that don’t need much maintenance. You might be tempted to run your fingers through your hair and comb your hair throughout the day. Girls remember to avoid touching your hair too much! The extra manipulation can cause an increase in shedding as well as those annoying split ends. Styles like the top knot and fishtail braid will keep you from being tempted to finger-comb.

    RICHARD WARD - CHELSEA COLLECTION

When it comes to hair products I always like to try different products to see and feel the difference, its always a case of trial and error. I was thrilled to hear from Richard Ward a celebrity hairdresser, who sent me two products from his new Chelsea Collection to review on here! I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited to try these new products!

So let me start with the ''Richard Ward Keratin Sleek Shampoo'' this shampoo contains his key ingredient, keratin! Which helps to create healthy hair by rebuilding the hairs natural hair, the hair absorbs the shampoo by entering the hair shaft resulting in luscious hair which Richard Ward is famous for creating. The smell, well what can I say it smelt AMAZING, I'm not kiddin' it has a beautiful scent containing Lychee and strigosa seeds. I also found the shampoo was detangle free my fingers were gliding through my hair. Now onto the conditioner, I used this after rinsing out the shampoo. Applied only to mid length and ends not the roots! The scent was beautiful as it contains amber, white jasmine, grapefruit, pear and apple!

Overall I'd definitely recommend for girls who have frizzy or dry hair as it left my hair feeling really soft, smooth and tangle free! The weather has been quite depressing here in the UK, which only means frizz bomb hair and dry ends! Thanks to these amazing products my hair now feels luscious and soft! WINTER HAIR TIP - DRY HAIR

Bonjour beauts! waking up to a storm was really unexpected, the rain and wind don't seem like they will be leaving us anytime soon so make sure your wrapped up and don't get blown away by the wind! Seen as the weathers turned bitterly cold I have a winter hair tip which I need to share... In winter, dry your hair before you leave the house! It really pays to get up half an hour earlier to blow dry your hair, or a couple hours to let your hair air dry. Of course, the time will depend on the length and thickness of your hair. And it will definitely be worth it to avoid the sneeze and snot fits you’ll have for days after.

HOW TO LOOK AFTER STRAIGHT HAIR

To make the most of straight hair, let your haircut do the talking: If your hair is on the thick side, go long. The weight will help prevent puffiness and to give it movement, add in a few graduated layers. If it’s finer, opt for a choppy shoulder/elbow length or a blunt bob. Both can create the illusion of fullness...

How to style it: Use a deep-cleaning shampoo. Scalp oils easily migrate down straight hair and can make it feel greasy a lot quicker than curly hair. Only apply lightweight conditioner on the ends only. Don’t load up on styling products, which can flatten. Instead, blow-dry with a smoothing paddle brush, aiming the air toward the ends. And the real secret to lustrous, shampoo-commercial hair? Rub shine serum between palms and apply on hair.

    Secret to Longer Lasting Shampoo

Hey beauts, is it just me or has this year completely flown by! so much has happened within a year and Iam so grateful for everything it has been quite an adventure and this is just the beginning!! 2014 is approaching and I'm so ready, are you! I will be launching my new human hair extensions range soon! fingers crossed! anyway what you've all been waiting to hear is, How to make shampoo longer lasting! Well I add water to my shampoo to make it last longer. But will it still clean hair as well? If it’s a concentrated shampoo that really lathers up (and takes a lot of water to rinse out), there’s no harm in adding water. A non sudsy shampoo could become too watered down to remove oils.
